Preparing for the Unknown - Managing the Unexpected
The DHSEM Incident Management Unit (IMU) mission is to ensure Colorado’s capability and readiness to manage complex incidents of an expected or unexpected nature. The unit currently has three primary focuses: Auxiliary Communications, State Incident Management Certification and State Incident Management Teams. All of these programs are volunteer in nature, either being staffed by volunteers or having voluntary participation. The unit also specializes in long-term incident coordination and special project facilitation. The unit is a part of the Field Operations Section within the Office of Emergency Management.
