The Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is happy to announce the availability of funds through the School Access For Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program created by the Colorado State legislature's SB18-158. The SAFER program provides funding for interoperable communication hardware, software, equipment maintenance, and training to allow for seamless communications between existing school communications systems and first responder communications systems.
Application and Review Process
All eligible applications received by the due date of May 11, 2021, will be reviewed by the grant selection committee (GSC). GSC members will review submitted applications each week throughout the application period t stay on track with the timetable put forth in the legislation, so please submit your application as soon as possible. Technical Assistance and Q & A
DHSEM will conduct two technical assistance calls to allow applicants to ask questions and get help with their applications. The calls will be held on April 16, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., and April 22, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Attendance is not required. Please feel free to forward this information and the technical assistance call information to individuals in your organization responsible for applying for this grant.
