The State of Colorado is building out its Whole of State Cyber Security Program to ensure no government is left behind.

In November 2021, the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) was signed into law. The passage of the IIJA secured almost 3 million dollars in funding for Colorado cyber security improvements.  There is a requirement that states pass down at least 80 percent of program funds to local governments.  The details of the grant requirements are documented in the Notice of Funding Opportunity.

The grant requires grant recipients to:

  • Develop a cybersecurity plan
  • Establish a State of Colorado Cybersecurity Planning Committee to support development of the plan, and
  • Identify projects to implement utilizing funding.

Colorado’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) is responsible for announcing grants.  Information about the grant available grants can be found on DHSEM’s grants webpage.  We expect the information regarding the State and Local Cybersecurity grant to be released by April 15, 2023.
