School Access For Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Announcement

Here is a new grant announcement through School Access for Emergency Response.

The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is happy to announce the availability of funds through the School Access For Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program created by the Colorado State Legislature's SB18-158.The SAFER Program provides funding for interoperable communication hardware, software, equipment maintenance, and training to allow for seamless communications between existing school communications systems and first responder communications systems.

Yesterday, Governor Polis ordered the closure of all bars, restaurants, theaters, gymnasiums and casinos in Colorado in an effort to protect and preserve the public health. The order, effective at 8:00 a.m. on March 17, 2020, allows restaurants to continue to serve meals for delivery or carry-out, but not for in-person dining.

SEOC Activation: COVID19

On March 10, 2020 Governor Jared Polis declared a state of emergency at 9:30 a.m. The state of emergency provides:

  • access to resources
  • legal flexibililty
  • protect our most vulnerable communities
  • better contain the outbreak
