Program Development Timeline 2020 - Colorado Emergency Preparedness Assessment (CEPA)

  • Research - February 18 - DHSEM Planning team meets with New York Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) to validate program concept for Colorado
  • Introduction - February 25 - Information sharing at Colorado Emergency Management Conference
  • Development - March & April - Collect and refine program requirements. Develop a CEPA schedule
  • Pilot - April & May -  Pilot trials with three counties. Develop/refine products with selected pilot counties
  • Assessment - May & June - Planning team assessment of CEPA following pilot trials
  • Launch - July - Statewide CEPA implementation. Schedule 2021 and 2022 CEPA with remaining counties
  • Integration - October & November - State Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA) / Stakeholder Preparedness Review (SPR) integration with CEPA
  • Target - July 2023 - CEPA cycle one complete. All 64 counties will have completed the CEPA
